In 1889, during a visit to Naples, Queen Margherita of Italy was served a pizza resembling the colors of the Italian flag, red (tomato), white (Cheese) and green (basil). This kind of pizza has been named after the Queen as Pizza Margherita.



  • 1 Pre-made whole wheat thin pizza crust
  • 1 medium tomato sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped
  • Desired amount of crumbled feta cheese
  • Desired amount grated parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Place pizza crust on a cookie sheet or cooking stone
  3. Brush the pizza crust with olive oil
  4. Arrange sliced tomatoes, chopped basil and cheese on the crust
  5. Bake for 10 minutes or to desired crispness
